Father Charged With The Murder of His 12-Year-Old Daughter 2 Years After Her Missing, Officials Say

FBI

Almost two years after his daughter went missing, a Florida father has been charged with her murder. On March 11, the Tallahassee Police Department announced that 36-year-old Andrew Wiley was arrested for second-degree murder related to the death of his 12-year-old daughter, Lori Paige, per PEOPLE

The announcement followed a thorough 22-month investigation into the pre-teen’s disappearance. Officials stated that Wiley reported his daughter missing back on June 3, 2023. He claimed that Lori left home with her backpack overnight while he was working.

On April 5, her remains were located in a remote, brushy area of Thomas County, Georgia, after digital evidence pointed investigators there. Earlier searches in 2024 produced no results until a burn cleared the brush. In March 2024, inconsistencies in Wiley’s statements made him a suspect in the case and “new information about his relationship with Lori” came about.

The Tallahassee Police Department noted that they started to notice inconsistencies in Wiley’s story while following “hundreds of leads across state lines” during the summer of 2023 and into early 2024.

Lawrence Revell, TPD Chief said, “I told you two years ago we would never give up. I told you two years ago we would find Lori and we would bring her home.”

“I told you two years ago that we would find who did this and we would arrest them and bring them to justice. And today, I stand before you to tell you we have done just that,” he continued.

“Lori deserved a safe home and a full life. While today’s arrest will never bring her back, it does bring us one step closer to justice,” said the Chief.
