A 27-year-old Texas man went ballistic and shot the mother of his child in the face at his 6-year-old’s birthday party.
Jalin J. Foreman has been charged with the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Jalen Whitlock, Houston police announced on Sunday, Law & Crime reports.
According to the report, Foreman went to the woman’s townhome where they were celebrating his daughter’s birthday. Whitlock’s boyfriend answered the door and he and Foreman minced words.
Then, Foreman, “taunted him and said things about fighting, shooting and to come to the back to fight,” the complaint says. Foreman reportedly “became more aggressive and went back to his truck which was parked directly in front of the house,” while Whitlock’s children “were all together near the front entrance of the house,” per Law & Crime.
Foreman was “trying to come to the house to give his daughter a birthday [gift], but [Whitlock] had told [Foreman] that he cannot come to the house.”
Foreman reportedly kept making threats about getting a gun so Whitlock’s boyfriend went to the kitchen to retrieve one himself.
As the boyfriend walked back toward the door, Foreman reportedly opened fire.
Whitlock then “yelled his name and grabbed the kids near the front door.”
Another witness said Foreman was in a White Chevy Tahoe and screamed at the house before firing five shots. Surveillance video reportedly shows Foreman driving off before returning.
“[I] will reload, come outside, let’s finish this,” Foreman said, according to the witness.
Foreman is beindg held on $1Million bond.
