Investigators believe that the suspect in custody was around Joseph Donohue at the time of his murder. New details surrounding the case show that pink fingernails were stuck in the victim’s chest.
On February 2, authorities were alerted to a crime scene after a family member relating to Donohue called in. The person had requested a welfare check, only for the police to find Donohue dead inside his boat house in a marina in Boston.
Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office revealed that Nora Nelson, 24-year-old has been arrested in connection to the incident. Nelson was found at the crime scene and attempted to stop the police from entering the boat house, per The Boston Globe.
The officers insisted and managed to find their way into the boat house. Upon reaching the site, they noticed the lifeless body of Donohue wrapped in duct tape and a tarp and stuck to weights. But another shocking discovery by the police was seeing pink fingernails stuck to the chest of the deceased.
The police also confirmed that there were blood stains in the boat, while a dead dog was found inside the water. Once the police had Nelson in custody, she tried to give up false details about herself while lying about her non-involvement with Donohue.
The suspect also lied about the bloodstains, claiming that it was her period blood. She is now being charged with murder. On Friday, Nelson pleaded not guilty, but she is being held behind bars without bail until further developments.
