Finesse2tymes has been taken back into federal custody, with prosecutors claiming that his arrest for making terroristic threats in Texas violated the terms of his supervised release, as reported by TMZ. His attorney, Carl A. Moore, confirmed to TMZ that Finesse turned himself in to authorities on Friday and is now in federal custody.
Prosecutors allege he violated his supervised release on three different occasions, according to documents obtained by TMZ. They state that he failed two drug tests—one in 2022 and another in 2024—both of which reportedly showed positive results for marijuana. The third alleged violation is connected to his arrest for terroristic threats in Texas earlier this year.
A warrant was issued for Finesse’s arrest due to an alleged incident in October 2024 involving King, a child star whom Finesse2tymes was mentoring. King’s former guardian claims that Finesse revealed a gun hidden under his shirt and said he would “up that fire,” a phrase from Memphis slang meaning to pull a gun. The woman reported the threat to authorities. She believed Finesse was capable of following through on the threat and expressed that she feared for her safety, reports note.
TMZ spoke with Moore in January, and he denied the claims. He stated that Finesse never threatened anyone and emphasized that they were “confident this matter will be resolved justly once the state of Texas applies the applicable law to the facts.” Finesse2tymes has been under supervised release since his release from prison in July 2022, where he served just over three and a half years of a five-year sentence for possessing a firearm as a former felon. His next hearing is set for May 8.
