A tragic road rage incident in Florida has left a woman dead and her boyfriend severely injured after a man allegedly mistook their car for his ex-girlfriend’s. The suspect, 33-year-old Kyle Hill, is now facing first-degree murder and attempted murder charges but claims he has no recollection of what happened, per the St. Petersburg Police Department.
Authorities say the incident began on March 9 after Hill argued with his ex-girlfriend. When she left in a friend’s Honda, Hill allegedly got into his Nissan SUV to find her. While searching, he spotted a similar Honda and assumed she was inside.
He then began chasing and threatening the vehicle’s occupants, later identified as 28-year-old Arislenni Blanco-Medina and her boyfriend, 35-year-old Norbelis Figueredo-Campos. During the pursuit, Hill allegedly told Blanco-Medina, “I got you. I’m going to kill you, your friend, and myself.”
She was on the phone with her father and young daughter at the time, expressing fear for her life. Moments later, Hill allegedly forced their car off the road, causing it to collide with a concrete pole, which then collapsed onto the vehicle, crushing it. Hill also crashed his SUV into a tree, and police later reported his blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit.
At his March 13 court appearance, Hill appeared in a wheelchair and told the judge he did not remember the crash. Per KSTU, he was denied bond and remains in custody. Blanco-Medina’s family is devastated, with her young daughter struggling to cope with the loss of her mother.
