A shocking murder in Florida has left a community in disbelief after a man allegedly killed his fiancée at a football watch party following an argument about their engagement.

Timothy Hyder, 52, is accused of fatally shooting Natalie Du’Mee, 51, with a .357 Magnum revolver after she called off their wedding and returned the engagement ring, Law & Crime reports.

According to investigators, the incident occurred in Sarasota County during a gathering with friends. Witnesses reported a heated exchange between the couple before the shooting. Following the attack, Hyder allegedly told Du’Mee’s 14-year-old daughter, “I blew her brains out.” The daughter fled the home and sought help from a neighbor.

Authorities found Du’Mee deceased at the scene and recovered the firearm. Hyder was arrested and is now facing charges of second-degree murder and child abuse for exposing the minor to such trauma.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has yet to release further details about the ongoing investigation.
