A 58-year-old Florida man, Robert Head, is facing charges of first-degree murder and arson.

During an argument over the air conditioning setting, Head allegedly doused his wife, Genevether Head, in gasoline and set her on fire, Law and Crime reports.

Police found Head hiding in a dog kennel holding a machete. The victim’s daughter reportedly described her relationship with Head as “fraught.”

Head allegedly called his wife names like b—- and she retorted by calling him a “broke b—-,” the affidavit said. The woman and her daughter lived with Head and the daughter claims her mom and Head argued because the home was hot and on a low A/C setting.

Head reported smiled, walked out the house and returned with a bucket of gasoline he doused on the victim and allegedly lit her on her, allegedly saying, “If we going out we going out together, I told you I ain’t never leaving you.”

“When asked the defendant stated that he deserved to die for taking the life of the victim,” the affidavit said.
