Florida Man Gets Shot After Customer in Mexican Restaurant Argues Over Song Being Played on Jukebox

Cesar Esquivel Estrada (Broward County Sheriff's Office)

An argument over a song being played on a jukebox at a Mexican restaurant escalated between two men when one of them pulled out a gun and started shooting.

Socorro Camacho, 54, was gunned down by Cesar Esquivel Estrada, 46, last Monday at Antojitos Mexicanos, a restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, WTVJ, reports.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when Estrada was playing a song on the jukebox and Camacho allegedly went up to him and told him, “You’re not a real Mexican if you play that music.”

Estrada pushed back and an argument ensued. Estrada reportedly pulled out a gun and shot Comacho multiple times, killing him.

“It’s just sad because this is a good neighborhood, and it never happens,” a customer, Mauro Bonilla told WFOR. “I’m very shocked that someone got shot there and killed.” Estrada fled but was caught the next day by authorities.

Comacho’s brother, Jullian, told the outlet that he is devastated by his brother’s untimely death.

“I only know they fought over a song, and that is it,” he said in Spanish.

Estrada is facing first-degree murder and has been held without bail.
