Bronny James made history and at age 19, he’s been drafted to the NBA and will play alongside his dominating, dear ole’dad LeBron as the first father-son duo.
Even though it seems like it was always planned, Bronny admits playing with his pops was never in the plan.
“I just want to come in and get my work in and get better every day. I never really had a thought of me going to play with my dad,” he said at a June 2 press conference, per AP. “That’s always there to take part of, but it wasn’t a main focus of mine.”
He continued, “It’s for sure amplified the amount of pressure,” he said.
“I’ve already seen it in (social) media and on the internet and stuff talking about (how) I might not deserve an opportunity.”
Bronny has surely paid his dues as one of the top high school ballers in the country. But his fame for being a great player and the son of an NBA icon has come with some setbacks.
Last year, Bronny suffered from cardiac arrest and had to take a break from basketball. He was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect but the NBA’s Fitness to Play Panel cleared him before the NBA draft combine.
Ball on Bronny!
