Cam Newton recently dropped some shocking lines on the Funky Friday podcast when he disclosed his motive for attending strip clubs. While many men typically visit strip clubs for pleasure and women, Cam Newton says he is driven by his competitive nature instead. Speaking about how his desire to prove his financial superiority drives him, Newton told his hosts:
“I never went to a strip club for women; I always went to strip clubs for guys. I’m a competitor.”
The father of eight continued:
“I wasn’t going to spend no money if I didn’t see nobody else spending money. As soon as I seen somebody thinking that they got money, ‘okay you spending five, I’m going to spend six. If you going to spend 10, I’m going to spend 15.’ And then we going to have a rain off.” Newton added, “So that’s my whole thing. It’s like I don’t go to strip clubs for chicks even though I want decoration. I was a competitor still am a competitor to think like you think you got it, but you don’t got it.”
Jess Hilarious and DJ Envy Discuss Newton’s Strip Club Claims
The Breakfast Club hosts weighed in on the discussion after Newton’s pronouncements about his strip club activities went viral. Hosts Jess Hilarious and DJ Envy threw open the phone lines to take opinions from viewers, but before they did, they debated the wisdom of Newton’s claims.
“I think it’s clowned out,” Jess said, adding, “because I mean, it was just the way it was presented too, like ‘I go to the strip club for men.'”
The media personality added that Cam Newton presented his motive for going to strip clubs ridiculously. She also suggested that the athlete go to auction houses to throw away money if he liked to do that.
“It’s like yo why why are we doing that? He need to be at auctions you want to show somebody how much money you getting, go to auction go bid against something,” Jess stated.
DJ Envy Defends Cam Newton
However, DJ Envy responded that he understood Newton’s viewpoint and tried to explain what the former quarterback meant. He acknowledged that the statement sounded “crazy” but suggested that Newton didn’t want to be outdone. The radio host also revealed that he had witnessed many men display their competitive nature in clubs several times, and he might have even participated in it sometimes.
“Like somebody next to you buy two bottles, and you’re like, give me three,” DJ Envy said.
Meanwhile, Jess interjected to clarify that her co-host and other men didn’t intentionally go to strip clubs to compete like Cam Newton, to which DJ Envy agreed. However, he added:
“I understand what he meant, like yeah, ‘let me show them what we got. We going to throw this. I’m going throw this, and then I’m going to make it back tomorrow, so I get that, but I’m not going there for that.”
Since his viral revelations about his motive for going to strip clubs, Newton’s statement has sparked diverse reactions online. Some have also referred to him as Diddy Junior, referring to the disgraced music mogul, but everyone agrees that his statement was shocking.
