According to NBC, Hannah Kobayashi who was missing soundly confirmed her return through a letter to a relative, Larie Pidgeon. The 30-year-old explained that she had been in Mexico and confessed to being oblivious to the media frenzy surrounding her disappearance.
Truly, Hannah’s disappearance was carried by the media throughout last month, especially after the “tragedy.” She had reportedly gotten on a plane headed for New York with her ex-boyfriend. But on November 8, she landed at the Los Angeles International Airport. Sources confirmed that Hannah discontinued communications with her family. She was later spotted with a man at the airport on surveillance footage.
However, police cleared the other party of any wrongdoing, while they followed up with a search. Ryan Kobayashi, the father of the missing woman, traveled to join in the search for Hannah. But after only a few days in LA, his lifeless body was found near the airport. Authorities ruled his death as suicide, NBC Los Angeles reports.
Shortly after Ryan’s unpleasant ending, Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell released a statement that Hannah had intentionally stayed MIA from her family while they panicked that she was missing. Days after her last communication with them, she had remained in Los Angeles without reaching her scheduled destination. But on November 12, she rerouted to Mexico through the San Ysidro pedestrian crossing.
While the Kobayashi family is dealing with the loss of a father, they have revealed their gratitude for reuniting with their daughter. Hannah, who was found last week at an undisclosed location, extended a heart of gratitude to them in a letter. She added that the next step is to focus on her “healing,” “peace,” and “creativity.”
