Four Teens Who Jumped Elderly Woman In NYC Train Station Have Been Charged

NYPD

Four teenage girls were apprehended for attacking a 71-year-old woman during a failed New Year’s Day robbery in a Brooklyn subway station. The woman, who was headed to church, bravely fought back. The teens, aged 13 to 15, were charged with robbery, assault, and harassment for the Jan. 1 incident against Linda Rosa, per the New York Post

One of the 15-year-old girls previously faced charges for allegedly assaulting a Queens officer in September. The others had no prior records. The recent crime began when they attempted to snatch Rosa’s purse at Hoyt Street after she exited a No. 3 train.

A fight broke out when a girl punched Rosa in her face, cutting her nose. Rosa fell, was stomped on; however, she was able to stand and grab two girls while calling for assistance. She was treated at The Brooklyn Hospital Center and expressed appreciation for not being more seriously injured. Despite forgiving the teens, Rosa believes the teens should still be held accountable.

She said,

“They don’t know the consequences of their actions until this happened, and now they have to pay for it – because we all have to pay for our choices.”
