An alleged killer doctor in Berlin, Germany first came face to face with the authorities following his arrest in August 2024. At the time he was suspected of four murders—but nearly a year later, investigators say he killed up to ten people.
Although the doctor has been confirmed to be a male, aged 40, his name is largely kept off public records. After his arrest, the police realized that he had worked closely with nurses in the palliative care team.
While on the team, he is suspected to have murdered four patients. These murders took place away from the hospital grounds in June and July. Investigators say that after these murders, the 40-year-old alerted neighbors in these different neighborhoods by starting a fire.
Three months after his arrest, investigations showed that he had four more other death victims and more recently, the authorities claimed the numbers have increased. On Tuesday, the police and prosecutors maintained that the Berlin killer doctor had carefully carried out these other two murders — both of whom were women.
The first victim was a 25-year-old who passed away in her own home in September 2021. This was after consuming a deadly mixture of different drugs given by the doctor with murder intent. The second was a 57-year-old who was killed in June 2024 after ingesting various drugs, also administered by the same doctor.
Following the series of murders and how he carried them out, the authorities believe that the doctor’s motive was strictly to kill; translating to “lust for murder.” Meanwhile, the accused has yet to confess or react to the accusations.
