An old clip showing Ginuwine’s revelations about his relationship with Aaliyah has resurfaced. He revealed that he and two other rappers fell out with the late singer before she passed. Ginuwine regretted that there was a rift between him and the woman he once loved but disclosed that he got her forgiveness from the afterlife.

Ginuwine’s Old Revelations About Relationship With Aaliyah

The old video of Ginuwine’s revelations about what happened between him and Aaliyah resurfaced recently. The singer had discussed their relationship dynamics during a 2021 episode of the Drink Champs podcast. He explained that he and Aaliyah never made up before she died, and it caused him great pain for him. Meanwhile, he wasn’t the only one who fell out with the late singer. From Ginuwine’s revelations about Aaliyah, their old label mates, Timbaland and Missy Elliot, were also not on good terms with her then.

“Unfortunately, we weren’t talking when she passed. She wasn’t talking to Timbaland. I think her and Missy fell out as well,” Ginuwine disclosed.

However, he added that they all still loved one another.

“Everyone was loving, but it’s just business, and when you’re young, people can separate you. You don’t know how or why.”

Aaliyah Forgave Ginuwine

The R&B singer revealed that he felt empty after hearing about Aaliyah’s plane crash.

“Do you understand what it feels like to have somebody that you love and get called, and they were in a plane accident?” he asked his hosts.

However, the space would soon be filled up after a dream.

“What touched my heart one time is Missy called me, and she said she had a dream, and she said she woke up crying. I was like, ‘So what happened?'”

In Ginuwine’s revelations about Aaliyah, he said Missy told him the dream was about “‘ Baby girl’, because we called Aliyah Baby girl.” Missy told her friend:

“‘She told me to tell you that she’s not mad at you, and she forgives you.’ We bawled cry because I always had that empty space in my heart,” he recalled.

Ginuwine Reveals Beef Was Due To Miscommunication

According to Ginuwine, they fell out with Aaliyah due to creative differences. The Toxic Pony singer revealed that his late friend had begun exploring another creative side of her music while working on her third album, which led to tension within the group. He also narrowed down their fight to miscommunication.

“We were all a family — Missy, Timbaland, her [Aaliyah], myself, Magoo, Playa, Tweet — all of us,” he said of their label mates.

He then stated how Aaliyah’s family was responsible for the issues that arose.
He said:

“Her and I weren’t seeing eye-to-eye. I think it had to do a lot more with her loyalty to her uncle, Barry Hankerson,” the record head.

The singer said he and Aaliyah fell apart when he decided to leave the label. During his revelations about what happened with Aaliyah, Ginuwine also stated that he had “no beef or nothing like that” with her and tried to ensure they were okay. However, he understood that she had heard a differnt narrative about his exit from her family.

Ginuwine’s revelations about his separation from Aaliyah underscore the importance of proper communication. Thankfully, he believes Aaliyah understood and forgave everything after her death, which has given him peace.
