Giovanni Impellizzeri became a person of interest on October 30, 2023. The New Jersey State Police had been tipped off about a shared clip on Telegram. Per People, the janitor posted videos of himself performing sexual acts on objects in the school. He also shared clips of cleaning his private parts with slices of bread and putting them back in the container. Kitchen utensils were also not spared.

In another heartbreaking clip, the suspect sprayed bleach into a cucumber container. Impellizzeri has been an Upper Deerfield Township Board of Education employee since 2019. This action caused parents to flinch as it depicted that their children’s lives had been endangered. However, NJ.com reported that health officials tested the suspect to determine if he was infected and every food item has been reportedly discarded.

Ultimately, they cleared Giovanni Impellizzeri of any disease, while stating that the children were at no risk of contracting any disease. Consequently, after a thorough investigation and admission to the crimes on October 31, 2023, the police led him off in handcuffs. Following his arrest, the school janitor was slammed with several charges.

This included aggravated assault, tampering with food products, and endangering the welfare of children. Impellizzeri was also charged with second-degree official misconduct and one count of possession of and one count of distribution of child sexual abuse material.

On January 13, the 27-year-old was slapped with a guilty plea for second-degree official misconduct. Additionally, Giovanni Impellizzeri has accepted a guilty plea to third-degree possession of child sexual abuse material. He is scheduled for sentencing in March.
