The Connecticut State Police shared a news release following the arrest of 29-year-old Bryan Baez-Rivera. According to the authorities, he left a crime scene after injuring a victim, now identified as a parent per Fox 8.

Right before noon on January 11, the police attended to a call in Horace Porter’s school parking lot. Upon their arrival, they attended to an injured victim who had been hit. According to the person’s testimony, they had argued about the games with the visiting team’s coach. This happened during the girls’ game that was played earlier.

However, it did not end there as after the game, the parent tried to confront the coach in the parking lot. A surveillance video captured when the person moved toward Bryan Baez-Rivera’s white Sedan vehicle.

But rather than press the brakes, the coach accelerated, leaving the victim on the ground. Fortunately, the injured survived the attack and was rushed to a hospital. Authorities claimed that his injuries were not life threatening.

Before the police went on a man hunt, Bryan Baez-Rivera phoned them and reported his location. The coach confessed to the hit but claimed that the victim chased him on foot. After the collision, the 29-year-old noticed a crowd building behind him and escaped. He confessed to having some children passengers in his vehicle. Although he has been released following a $5000 bond, the coach will appear in court on January 23.
