Hangry Customer Shoots and Kills Waffle House Employee After Allegedly Getting Agitated While Waiting For Food

It’s never that serious.

An agitated and hangry customer at a Waffle House in Laurinburg, NC got so mad at employees after ordering a meal that he shot up the restaurant.

Unfortunately, an employee, 18-year-old Burlie Dawson Locklear, caught a stray reportedly shot by Florwer Carlin Lizano, 38, who is still on the run.

Police are looking to charge Lizano, also known as Chulo or Carlos, for the First Degree Murder of Locklear, WPDE News 13 reports.

According to reports, Lizano waited for his food, but then got into a verbal altercation with employees. Once he received his meal, he left the restaurant and turned around to fire shots, one of them killed Lizano.

Waffle House released the following statement after the shooting.

“We are mourning the tragic death of one of our Waffle House Associates, who was the victim of an outrageous act of violence early this morning at our Laurinburg, NC restaurant.”

The death of our Associate, 18-year-old Burlie Dawson Locklear, known simply as “Dawson” to his friends and family, is horrific. We offer our sincerest and deepest sympathy to his family and friends. We are offering free counseling services to our Associates as we all mourn this tragic loss of life.
