The attention of the authorities to a fatal car crash in Washington was piqued when a 7-year-old acted speedily. The young boy, also involved in the accident, was brave enough to seek help from other vehicles. On October 6, right before midday, a car crashed in Washington with about four passengers on board. This includes the driver alongside three kids. USA Today reports that the car skidded 50 feet off the road and was spotted 15 feet down an embankment. The fire rescue team from Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue, found the vehicle in Kelso, not too far from the Oregon Border.
7-Year-Old’s Courage After Fatal Car Crash in Washington
Amid the fatality, one of the passengers, a 7-year-old boy, found his way out of the car. Fortunately, he was able to get help on time as he called out to other drivers. That was when they contacted emergency services. Upon the arrival of the first responders, the fire crew employed hydraulic extraction equipment to release two victims from the car. Sadly, they confirmed that the adult driving the vehicle lost his life on the scene.
The eldest of the three children in the vehicle, a 9-year-old, was immediately taken to a medical facility in Portland. The child suffered many injuries from the fatal Washington car crash as the vehicle reportedly rolled over severally. Meanwhile, the 7-year-old hero and the other child, a 2-year-old, sustained minor wounds. Still, they were moved to a local hospital for treatment.
For now, the authorities are tight-lipped on the situation of things. But following the last update, the survivors had already been taken to where they would receive treatment. On the other hand, the authorities are hands-on with the investigation as to why the crash occurred. Additionally, the fire department has yet to provide concrete evidence of what triggered the accident as well.
