According to federal authorities, a man named Eric Nicholas Gapco, 26, from Delanco, New Jersey, caused chaos on an American Airlines flight from Seattle to Dallas on July 18, KSLTV reports.

Gapco had consumed 10 marijuana edibles before the incident. He began acting unruly, taking off his shirt, puffing a vape pen, and propositioning a flight attendant for sex. He also allegedly assaulted a flight attendant and attempted to open the plane’s exterior doors multiple times.

“I have clots in my legs, I need hospitalization,” Gapco loudly shouts. “I need to go to a hospital!”

Video footage shows Gapco shouting “I am sane!” as crew members try to calm him near the bathroom. Eventually, flight attendants restrained him with shackles, and the captain made an emergency landing in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Prosecutors said he was aggressive and confrontational with medical staff and police, leading them to request his detention.

Gapco was subsequently arrested.

The angry man was charged and will go to court in Salt Lake City on August 1st. He is accused of interfering with a flight crew and trying to damage an aircraft in the United States.
