A Tennessee man who brutally assaulted his ex-girlfriend on several occasions is now behind bars on attempted murder charges.
An unnamed pregnant woman suffered multiple stab wounds by her ex, 35-year-old Deandre Wilkins, while walking with friends, Law & Crime reports.
The woman reported that Wilkins walked to her punched her in the face and proceeded to repeatedly stab her. The man reportedly said, “I told you I was going to get you.”
Wilkins and the woman dated for a year, and she is pregnant with his child, according to reports.
In fact, this was the third attempt on her life, she told police. In July, Wilkins allegedly sucker-punched the woman in the face at least four times and stole her purse. She didn’t report the attack Then in August, her circled back and held the woman and her kids captive in her apartment. Again he punched her in the mouth and threatened her life with a kettlebell if she dared to leave.
“I will smash your face in if you try to leave!” he reportedly said.
Wilkins has been hit with a slew of charges, from aggravated assault, domestic violence and four counts of false imprisonment, robbery and attempted murder.
Wilkins is sitting in the Shelby County Jail on a $2 million bond.
