Playboi Carti and Iggy Azalea haven’t been in the same space for a while. The Australian singer shared the news when a fan asked her to deliver a message to her ex. She said she was not in touch with her baby daddy, who was known for his mysterious persona, further cementing his deadbeat dad status. Azalea also confessed that she didn’t care to know Carti’s whereabouts.

Playboi Carti and Iggy Azalea Don’t Speak

Iggy Azalea revealed that she and Playboi Carti have not been in contact in six months. She disclosed this during a collaborative Twitch livestream session with streamer Aramouth on Tuesday, January 14. During the livestream, a fan asked the 34-year-old Australian rapper to pass along a request to her baby daddy and ex-partner.

“Someone’s saying, ‘Tell Playboi Carti to drop,'” she said as she read out the fan’s request.

Azalea replied:

“I don’t speak to him, my love. We haven’t heard from that man in over like 6 months.”

She added that she and her son have no idea of her former lover’s whereabouts.

“We don’t know where he is. I have no idea; have no association. You have to tell somebody that speaks to him, wherever he is. We don’t know or care.”

Playboi Carti’s History of Dipping Out

This is not the first time Iggy Azalea has complained about Playboi Carti’s attitude toward her and their son. The duo started dating in 2018 but called it quits by December the next year. Their son Onyx was born six months later, and Azalea has been vocal about raising him alone since then. She first spoke about it when she announced that her relationship with the rapper was over and that she was raising Onyx alone. The Fancy rapper again drew attention to their issues in December 2020.

At the time, she exposed Carti for cheating on her in now-deleted tweets. She also revealed on Instagram Live that he was not present at his son’s birth so he could play a game.

“While I was pregnant, this man didn’t even come to see his son be born. He went to Philly to play the PlayStation with Lil Uzi. He felt that was more important than seeing his son be born–and I had a scheduled c-section by the way,” Azalea said.

Iggy Azalea Calls Herself a Single Mother

Playboi Carti and Iggy Azalea’s relationship has not recovered since then. In July 2024, she clearly stated that she was not co-parenting because Carti was an absent dad. Hence, she was raising their son, Onyx, alone. The Black Widow rapper disclosed this on a July 2024 episode of Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Dinner’s on Me podcast. She said:

“I’m very much a single mother, I’m very much the only parent. No disrespect, but I am not co-parenting, really. That’s just the reality of it. It’s 24/7.”

Playboi Carti and Iggy Azalea’s situation mirrors that of many. Thankfully, everyone, including his fans, recognizes that his attitude is problematic and continues to call him out for being a deadbeat dad who abandoned his kid. Meanwhile, some of his fans only care about his highly anticipated new album slated for a February 2025 release. Playboi has also not responded to any of Iggy Azalea’s allegations.
