Honduran gang member 35-year-old Eduardo Javier Ordonez Godoy was apprehended for kidnapping a young Texas woman, threatening to exploit her, and sell her organs. He reportedly laughed while confessing. He was previously deported for similar crimes and remains correlated to a violent gang, which he admitted to officials, per the New York Post.
The undocumented immigrant reportedly admitted to the kidnapping, and showed no remorse. The unnamed victim expressed fear for her safety during the incident.
Sergeant Rick Alexander of the Haltom City Police informed FOX 4 News,
“He smirked a lot, he giggled, and, you know, was almost proud of what he did.”
“He claims he’s just a thief. He wants money… But, you know, in this case, clearly he went beyond that and brought a firearm into it,”
he continued.
Officials report that Godoy reportedly abducted the woman in the early morning hours of Christmas Eve as she drove to work in Haltom City. He forced her into her car’s backseat, made her withdraw cash, and threatened to sell her organs and sexually exploit her.
The suspect drove the woman to an apartment complex in Grapevine tied her hands to a tree using her shoelaces, and escaped in her vehicle. Luckily, she was able to free herself, contact officials, and inform them that Godoy’s threats terrified her.
Officials entered the stolen car into their database, and it was discovered in Oklahoma City by an officer on Christmas Day, 200 miles away. The suspect was apprehended and jailed there, as he face charges “for vehicle misuse, firearm use during a felony, and misdemeanors.”
Additionally, he is facing
“aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery charges in Haltom City.”
