In a case of “mind the business that pays you,” a man in Indonesia killed his 60-year-old neighbor after he kept asking him why he wasn’t married.
The incident occurred on July 29 in Tapanuli Selatan, northern Sumatra. The neighbor, Asgim Irianto, was reportedly attacked with a piece of wood by 45-year-old Parlindungan Siregar.
Irianto fell after being struck in the head by Siregar who grew tired of the constant questioning about his marital status, Inquirer.net reports.
Despite being taken to a local community health center, Irianto died on the way. Siregar was arrested shortly after and confessed to planning the murder, citing the constant taunting about his status as single being the catalyst that caused him to snap.
“He was determined to beat Mr Asgim to death because of the frequent taunts about his single status,” Assistant police commissioner Maria Marpaung said.
The police noted that the neighbors had a strained relationship and often argued about their chickens.
In a separate incident last month, another man in Indonesia allegedly stabbed his friend to death during an argument about whether the chicken or the egg came first.
#Clique, take Indonesia off your bucket list before you go over there and say too much and get busted in the head. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
