A prisoner escaped from a Brooklyn hospital and remained at large on Thursday, one day after being apprehended for “petit larceny” and other offenses. 50-year-old Gilberto Sanchez was receiving treatment at the hospital in Brooklyn when he fled around 2 p.m. He is about 5-foot-6 and weighs around 160 pounds, per the New York Post.
He was last spotted sporting a white shirt, black sweatpants, and a blue and black jacket, along with yellow and black sneakers.
Sanchez was apprehended around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday for petit larceny, resisting arrest, and obstructing officials. It isn’t clear how he escaped or why he needed medical treatment.
