A tragic incident in Peterlee, County Durham, has raised fears that Jade Damarell, 32, took her own life by deliberately jumping from 10,000 feet without deploying her parachute. Per MailOnline, the event occurred on April 27.

According to reports, the unfortunate incident occurred just one day after Jade ended her relationship with boyfriend Ben Goodfellow, 26.

An inquest gathered that there were no mechanical issues with Jade’s equipment. Durham police also confirmed no third-party involvement.

Sky-High Skydiving, the club where she regularly jumped, described the incident as a “deliberate act.” Jade Damarell’s parachute did not open, causing her to die instantly on impact. Letters found at the scene indicated Jade may have planned to end her life.

She had been in a relationship with Ben, a fellow skydiver and musician, for about eight months. Friends described them as inseparable and living together near the skydiving site since Christmas. The breakup occurred the night before her death.

Jade was an accomplished skydiver, having completed over 400 jumps. She studied marketing at university and was previously married. Her family remembered her as a brilliant and courageous woman who found freedom in skydiving. The full inquest is set for August.
