Jessie Woo’s comments about men wanting to see women in their natural state being broke have ignited a debate. The reality TV star shared that from experience, those who make such requests can’t afford women’s upkeep. However, her comments didn’t sit well with many who think she is being dishonest. On the other hand, some have agreed with her comments about men.
Jessie Woo’s Comments About Men
Woo shocked many with her comments about men on Thursday, February 6, while talking with voice actress Medinah Monroe on her Jess A Couple Things podcast. During their discussion, Monroe asked if it was right for men to ask to see women in their “natural state before they get into a real relationship with women.” Woo’s response was surprising. She said:
“When a man says that to you, he wants to strip you of everything. He doesn’t want you to have the thought process of maintaining yourself.”
The media personality explained, saying:
“Whenever I’ve heard a man say, “Let me see what you look like with no makeup. Let me see what you look like without the hair. I feel like that man is telling you that he does not have the money to finance your beauty upkeep.”
She added that men like that usually had the following thought:
“Don’t come over here thinking that I’m going to go to Sephora, get you some makeup. So I need to see you without all that because I want to strip you of all that because I ain’t go it.”
Fans Disagree With Jessie Woo’s Comments About Men
Many people disagreed with Jessie Woo’s comments about men wanting women to be natural because they were broke. They argued that some men just like their women being natural or want to see what they look like without the beauty enhancement. A fan commented on Onsite’s post, saying:
“It definitely don’t mean that. Some women look like 6 different people with out makeup. We just wanna make sure we not getting catfished.” Another person said, “Or he wanna know what his kids gon look like.”
A third fan agreed. They said:
“Nope he just wanna see how you look and if he can wake up to that for the rest of his life !”
A third fan replied:
“I think some men just genuinely love to see women or their woman in their natural state. I have dated a guy that absolutely loved my natural no makeup. I feel as though he compliments more with none of the added vs the added. It’s just a preference in most cases.”
Another opined:
“Girl let a MAN tell why he ask y’all to remove that makeup.”
More Fans React To Jessie Woo’s Comments About Men
Meanwhile, some fans opposed Jessie Woo’s beliefs that men should finance women’s beauty regimen. They stated that every woman should be able to care for herself regardless of their man’s input. A fan remarked:
“Your upkeep isn’t a man’s responsibility. It’s yours. And if you didn’t rely on wearing 50 pounds of makeup you wouldn’t be offended by a man saying that.”
Another person stated:
“A women should b able to finance her own maintenance expenses period from the door.”
However, a few fans agreed with Woo’s comments about men, noting that men often contradict themselves when they say they like natural women.
“Men say they like natural but every pic they like and girl they follow be the oppo!” the person commented.
Another fan said:
“This is my unpopular opinion.”
