Joie Chavis has come under heavy scrutiny and backlash after revealing that she moved in with her mom. The internet personality was forced to evacuate from her LA home with her three children after the wildfires. Meanwhile, seeing as Chavis has three baby daddies, online netizens have wondered why she moved in with her mom instead of asking one of her baby daddies for help.

Joie Chavis Living With Her Mom

Joie Chavis received a fair amount of backlash after her clip, which Onsite obtained, made it to X, formerly Twitter. The professional dancer shared that she was forced to evacuate her and her three children from their home. This was after the fires destroyed the property surrounding them. She revealed that her home was untouched, but authorities said she couldn’t return for another 10 to 14 days. In the meantime, Chavis moved her family to her mom’s. Hence, she and her children have been “rotating four of five outfits.”

The fitness buff also revealed that she is ready to move out of Los Angeles due to her experiences in the environment and the rent prices. Chavis recalled the robbery incident that happened to her a few years ago and added that the wildfires and the need to cut costs had reinforced her desire to leave LA. The 36-year-old media personality divulged that she planned to get a house by the end of the year, but the fires had sped up the process.

Joie Chavis Gets Backlash Following Evacuation

Many people didn’t react to Joie Chavis’ clip, and backlash followed. The major question many of them had was why none of the fitness enthusiast’s baby daddies stepped up to provide a home, whether temporarily or not. Chavis notably shares her first daughter, Shai, with rapper Bow Wow, a son, Hendrix, with rapper Future, and her second daughter and third child with NFL player Trevon Diggs. However, Chavis has previously said she doesn’t receive support from her baby daddies, which seems to be the case now.

The fashionista had addressed rumors that she had children by different men for nefarious reasons during a YouTube Q&A live on her channel.

“Oh, she’s a gold digger. She’s just having these babies to secure a bag,” Chavis said, adding, “I always have worked since I was 15 years old, I don’t know what it’s like to just not do anything. I don’t get any child support. I think that’s the biggest misconception, and it doesn’t bother me at all. To the people that know me, obviously, I’m so much more than that.”

Fans Defend Joie Chavis Against Backlash

Meanwhile, Joie Chavis appears to still have solid supporters amid the backlash she is facing. On Onsite’s Instagram page, many fans thought she did well by going to her mom instead of living with men she was no longer involved with.

“This exactly a blessing… because when my world falls apart…. IM GOING TO MY MAMA!” someone wrote.

A second person commented:

“Who is to say they all didn’t step up and she CHOSE to stay with her mom?”

Another fan wrote:

“People be jealous bc they don’t have a mom to lean back on & im sure Joie can call any one of them dudes and ask to be put in a hotel for a couple weeks if she wanted to.”

A fourth fan also said:

“I am lost cause they’re her BD’s none are her man why would she want to be with them anyways. I am going to my mama’s too perriodt I don’t think they owe her ish.”

We wish Joie Chavis and her children the best in this trying period. Thankfully, she is one of the lucky few to have their houses escape the fires. Hopefully, she can move out of LA as she planned and recover from the trauma of the robbery and fire.
