Jonathan Majors’s new movie has received life again after it bagged a partnership deal with Briarcliff Entertainment and Zeus Network. The film was initially shelved when the distributing company dropped it following Majors’s trouble with the law. However, it has received a release date, and Majors’s role is anticipated to be life-changing for his career.
Jonathan Majors’ New Movie Gets Release Date
Jonathan Majors has some good news to end the year. Two entertainment companies recently announced that the actor’s new movie, Magazine Dreams, has been picked up and will soon be released. Briarcliff Entertainment and Zeus Network partnered to market the movie, which was shelved after he was accused of harassment and physical assault against his ex, Grace Jabbari. According to Briarcliff’s CEO, Tom Ortenberg, Magazine Dreams will debut in theaters in 2025.
No specific date for Jonathan Majors’s new movie has been selected, but it is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2025. Elijah Bynum, renowned for directing the Donald Trump biopic The Apprentice and David Oyelowo and Storm Reid’s supernatural thriller Don’t Let Go, directed MagazineDream. The film could have earned Majors an Oscar if it had not been shelved. However, the actor’s chances are good, with the film’s release date close by.
Jonathan Majors’s New Movie Was Well-Received
Jonathan Majors’ new movie captured the attention of several industry hotshots at the Sundance Festival who fought to obtain distribution rights. After the movie premiere, Neon, HBO, and Sony Pictures Classics had a bidding war. Searchlight won the domestic rights but dropped it after Major’s legal troubles came to light. The new partners then became free to take it up.
Meanwhile, the film looks set to be life-changing in real life and the fiction world. Otenberg praised the movie, saying:
“Jonathan Majors’ transcendent performance as Killian Maddox will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the most compelling and transformative roles in recent cinema history.”
The film is premised on a bodybuilder named Killian Maddox (Majors) who abused steroids after becoming obsessed with becoming a legend in the industry.
Briarcliff Entertainment CEO Praises The Movie
Tom Ortenberg also praised the effort of Magazine Dreams’s director, cast, and crew. He expressed his delight that the public would see the project they all invested time and resources in.
“Elijah’s film made a well-deserved splash in Sundance, and Briarcliff is looking forward to taking his story to the big screen across the country in early 2025,” Ortenberg said.
Elija Bynum also expressed his joy about the movie being released.
“Dozens of incredibly talented people poured their time, energy and creativity into bringing this film to life, and I am immensely proud of their work,” he said. “I’m grateful to Tom Ortenberg and Briarcliff Entertainment for their unwavering support, passion, and for giving this film the opportunity to reach a wider audience.”
There have been mixed feelings about Jonathan Majors’s new movie. However, the actor has not relented in his quest to return to his once-thriving Hollywood career. He has also received a lot of help, including lenient judgment and filming Merciless. Hopefully, Majors will make better use of this new opportunity.
