Kanye West no longer has a talent agent to represent him after his agent dumped him following his controversial remarks. West, also known as Ye, had been ranting online for days and making antisemitic comments before Elon Musk announced he had deleted the musician’s X account. His remarks and sale of controversial wear eventually prompted his agent to part ways with him.
Kanye West Loses Agent Over Controversial Remarks
Kanye West has been dealt a major blow following his controversial remarks on X, formerly Twitter. The Yeezy founder, who recently revealed he has autism, had been stirring trouble with his antisemitic comments online, a move he called “cathartic” and “freeing.” He also advertised troubling merchandise on his website. These incidents prompted his talent agent to stop representing him. Daniel McCartney, his agent at 33&West, announced the decision some hours ago on Instagram, noting that he was parting ways with the entrepreneur.
“Effective immediately, I’m no longer representing Ye (F/K/A Kanye West) due to his recent hateful and harmful remarks that myself nor 33&West can stand for,” McCartney wrote.
He signed off his message with “Peace and Love to all” and added a red heart emoji.
Kanye Sued For Controversial Remarks
Ye has more problems to deal with besides losing representation by his talent agent. A former Yeezy employee who worked in the marketing department claimed that the brand founder made several antisemitic comments while she worked there. She claimed that Kanye’s controversial remarks amounted to workplace harassment as she was a Jew and filed a lawsuit against him in California. The former Yeezy employee said one of the texts Ye sent her read:
“Welcome to the first day of working for Hitler.”
Additionally, she allegedly received pornographic material and harassing messages from the rapper. Considering his controversial remarks on X, the lawsuit against Kanye West is inconvenient for him. The musician shocked many when he began his antisemitic tirade online. In one of his posts, he wrote, “IM A NAZI,” and said in a second one, “I will never apologize for my Jewish comments.”
Kanye West Loses X Account For Controversial Remarks
Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of X, certainly had more than enough patience for Kanye West’s tirades. However, the platform eventually deleted Ye’s account over the weekend after he posted dozens of antisemitic comments that violated X policies. Before his account was taken down, Ye had declared an end to his provocative posts. He wrote:
“I’m logging out of Twitter. I appreciate Elon for allowing me to vent. It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board.”
However, Musk confirmed that Kanye West’s account was deleted because his controversial remarks violated the platform’s policies. He replied to a call for West’s account to be banned, writing:
“Given what he has posted, his account is now classified as NSFW. You should not be seeing that anymore.”
It is surprising that Kanye West’s agent lasted this long, considering the rapper’s meltdown in 2022 that resulted in similar controversial remarks. Ye lost several partnerships at the time, and it appears he is not repentant despite that experience.
