The fires in LA have not shown signs of slowing down, and many people have lost their lives and property. The state of California has also enlisted the help of some prisoners to fight the fires. Meanwhile, as the fires continue to rage and amid the news of enlisted incarcerated firefighters, several fans have wondered if Blueface is among those fighting the LA fires. However, his mom, Karlissa Angelic, hopped on a live stream to deny such rumors.

Blueface’s Mom Says He is Not Fighting Fires in LA

Blueface’s mom has cleared the air on a live stream as fans speculated whether her son joined those combating the fires in his hometown. Karlissa Angelic responded to a fan who asked the question in a clip, which surfaced on X, formerly Twitter, on January 12 and told them he was not. She said:

“They don’t make rich n****s fight fires in jail, ma’am. They might make your son fight the fire, though, not mine! But they might make yours. He paying his taxes to be in there.”

Angelic added that her son was only taking a break from life and was getting rehabilitated from his time in jail.

“He in rehab,” she said, adding, “My son is in jail rehab, okay? He taking a break from life, he in rehab, he getting rehabilitated.”

She also warned the social media user who asked if Blueface is fighting LA fires not to “try to play with my baby.” According to NPR, over 900 prisoners have joined the more than 7500 workers trying to extinguish the most destructive fires in LA history.

Fans Lambast Karlisaa Angelic for Her Response

Many people found Angelic’s response to the fan’s question condescending and insensitive and called her out. In Onsite’s Instagram post of the incident, fans expressed displeasure over the rapper’s mom’s statements.

“Girl… ain’t nobody too rich to help others,”  a fan commented over Blueface fighting LA fires.

A second person wrote:

“You don’t “make” inmates fight for fires. They do it willingly and sign up it has nothing to do with income so pls. “

A third person responded:

“The prisoners firefighters that was helping the community are men that signed up to be there, it’s a long waiting list to even be accepted to do that type of job #prisonheros s/o to all the first responders.”

Blueface Keeping Busy in Prison

Blueface may not be fighting the LA fires, but he is keeping himself occupied in prison. The rapper’s dad, Jonathan Porter Snr. posted a video of him playing basketball in prison. He captioned the clip, posted on X by My Mixtapez:

“Happy New Year 2025. Hit on the slots. Ran into blue on the yard. We coming home soon.”

Blueface’s manager, Wack 100, has echoed Porter’s confidence about the rapper going home soon. He estimated that Blueface would be home in about 10 months since he has served 440 days.

The 27-year-old Bussin rapper is serving time at the North Kern State Prison in Delano, California. He was arrested a fourth time for violating his probation and has been incarcerated for about a year now. His baby mama, Chrisean Rock, has also been arrested on drug charges. Meanwhile, Blueface unveiled his new look in prison in November 2024. He got new tattoos, including one which read, “Chrisean.” However, when it got out, Angelic expressed her displeasure over the tattoo in a text.

Blueface fighting the LA fires would have gone on his record and quickened his release. However, his parents and manager are quite confident he will soon be out, so fans are waiting to know whether that will happen.
