Lil Baby has revealed why he doesn’t work with rappers who snitch on others. The Atlanta rapper explained this in a recent conversation with fellow rapper Lil Yachty on the A Safe Place Podcast. Lil Baby’s disclosure occurred after his music collaboration with friend and rapper Gunna ended. His confessions seemed to confirm rumors that the latter snitched on a mentor. However, Lil Baby didn’t mention names or say much beyond his initial statements.
Lil Baby Reveals He Doesn’t Work With Snitch Rappers
While talking with Yatchy, Lil Baby insisted that his values prevented him from working with snitching rappers. The rapper claimed he had nothing in common with such people as they didn’t mind selling out their people.
“Like, those kinds of morals is never gon leave you. You know what I’m saying? I’m always gon look at certain stuff a certain way,” he shared.
When his host asked if he could overlook snitches, Lil Baby said he couldn’t.
“‘Cause it boils down to what we rapping about,” he said. “We can’t rap about that if you did that. If I was making Christmas music, I don’t give a damn what you did,” the Perfect Timing rapper asserted.
“You don’t tell my jingle bells and shit. We’re talking about what we talking about, doing what we doing. Like, I don’t really speak on niggas. You ain’t gon put a poster saying he a snitch, and that’s the downfall for it all where the people know it and they rapping it in it songs, tell my murders and who you kill,” he concluded.
Lil Baby Claims Snitch Rappers Are Destroying The Industry
Lil Baby also drilled into the implications of rappers who snitch. He revealed that snitching affects the industry and personal lives of those snitched on by putting them in trouble.
“That shit fucking up the whole program. It’s not only fucking up the hip-hop business,” he said. “It’s fucking up the way of living for rappers.”
While discussing his observations with Yatchy, Lil Baby didn’t mention anyone or hint at them. However, many suspected he was referring to his former collaborator, Gunna. Lil Baby and Gunna trained under Young Thug, who is currently being held and charged with many crimes, including conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influence and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO) and gang-related charges.
Young Thug is allegedly a central figure in the Young Slime Life (YSL) label, which prosecutors believe to be a gang and allege was responsible for “75 to 80% of violent crime” in Atlanta.
Lil Baby And Gunna’s Fallout
There are rumors that Gunna snitched on Young Thug, which may explain why he and Lil Baby stopped working together. The pair worked together from the beginning of Lil Baby’s career, and their collaboration helped boost their careers in 2018 when they released Drip Harder. Therefore, many believe Lil Baby referred to Gunna when discussing rappers who snitch on the podcast.
Lil Baby’s words reveal a concerning trend within the rap industry. Hopefully, hip-hop stars will be able to get their acts together as upcoming artists look up to the established musicians within the industry.
