Lil Baby has finally responded to being name-dropped in Kendrick Lamar’s diss track Not Like Us. The song, Lamar’s fourth diss track against Drake, was released on May 4, 2024. However, Lil Baby didn’t say anything about it being mentioned in it until his recent interview with Charlagmane Tha God in his Out of Context series released on December 19, 2024. In reacting to the track, Lil Baby wondered why Kendrick Lamar tried to include him in his beef with Drake.

Lil Baby Reacts to Kendrick Lamar’s Diss Track

Lil Baby was with Charlagmane Tha God when he opened up on being name-dropped in Kendrick Lamar’s song. When asked what his reaction was upon hearing his name in Not Like Us, the rapper said he preferred to be left out of such situations. Charlamagne read the relevant lyrics to Lil Baby in which Lamar rapped, “You run to Atlanta when you need a check balance/ Let me break it down for you, this the real n—a challenge/ You called Future when you didn’t see the club/ Lil Baby helped you get your lingo up.” In response, Lil Baby said:

“I ain’t really into that side of hip-hop.”

He admitted that he and Drake have “a great relationship.” However, he added that it was “just like with any situation: If you and him was arguing, why the hell you gonna say [my name]?” the rapper asked. Lil Baby also revealed that he treats rap like work.

“I don’t want nothing to do with it,” he said. “Not saying whatever they got going on ain’t real, but I feel like, to me, rappin’ and sh– be my work. I don’t want that type of sh– at work.”

Lil Baby and Gunna’s Estranged Relationship

Meanwhile, fans have speculated that Lil Baby dissed another rapper on his 350 track, just as Kendrick Lamar did. However, he denied the rumors. Lil Baby and Gunna’s relationship turned sour after rumors went around that the latter snitched on Young Thug. Lil Baby blamed the internet for the speculations, saying:

“It’s just the internet, what they gon’ create. I talked about rats in every song I had since I started rapping. They just create a narrative. I don’t even been talking about a n*gga. It’s whoever a rat.”

In the meantime, the Drip Harder rap star ruled out the possibility of working with Gunna again despite both recording several hits together. “We don’t got no relationship,” Lil Baby told Charlagmane about his connection with Gunna. He also asserted he won’t work with his former collaborator even if their mentor, Young Thug, asks. “I don’t see that happening,” he said. Meanwhile, his fourth studio album, WHAM (Who Hard as Me), is scheduled for release on January 3, 2025.

Lil Baby has a point about not wanting to be involved in Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s rap feud if he doesn’t want to be. However, his words would only stand if his reference to rats wasn’t made to Gunna. Otherwise, it would be hypocritical if he dissed others without wanting to be dissed in return.
