Police in Lufkin, Texas, are searching for a man, Avante Nicholson, accused of hiding plastic Easter eggs filled with marijuana in public locations. The Lufkin Police Department (LPD) issued arrest warrants for Nicholson after discovering that he had posted clues on Facebook about where to find the eggs. This led to a community tip-off.

The department explained that Nicholson shared images of the eggs’ locations, including public parks and a Motel 6. Four eggs were initially located by officers, with a fifth later found by a man and his granddaughter at Winston Park. Each egg contained over a quarter-ounce of marijuana.

Police’s investigation linked the social media posts to Avante Nicholson, where he had referenced selling narcotics and hinted at the egg locations for those “shopping” with him. Lufkin Police Chief David Thomas emphasized the seriousness of the situation, particularly due to the potential risks to children, stating that community safety remains a top priority.

Nicholson now faces four felony warrants for delivering marijuana in a drug-free zone and for regular delivery of marijuana. If convicted, he could face fines up to $10,000 and up to two years in prison, as reported by PEOPLE.
