A group of residents in Manhattan band together to attack a man being rolled out on a stretcher that they believe is behind the gruesome murder of a young woman after her body was found decomposing in a sleeping bag next to a pile of trash.

Yazmeen Williams, 31, was found dead July 5, with a gunshot wound to her head, Fox5Ny, reports.

On Monday, chaos erupted as a man was taken into custody, but police could hardly contain an angry mob from trying to grab the suspect as people lunged for him as he was being transported on a stretcher.

Screams could be heard as the crowd pushed and peppered police with chants and angry outbursts accusing the man of murder. The victim’s mother reportedly came face-to-face with the suspect too, calling for his death.

The man, however, responded by yelling back to protesters that he was innocent, but the passionate screams only got louder and louder as residents jostled with police to get to the suspect with desperate pleas for someone to snuff the man out.
