Colombian Police clamp down on a man who sealed doses of cocaine under his wig. The suspect’s plan to transport the contraband was thwarted, and now he remains in custody.
On February 20, an unnamed suspect aged 40, was intercepted while traveling from Cartagena to Amsterdam. Following a thorough search by the Anti-Narcotics Police, they found cocaine under his wig.
The suspect wore a wig that matched his natural hair color. However, inside it was contraband worth around $10,500. Footage of the search made its way online. In the clip, officials were spotted cutting the wig to uncover the cocaine.
Next, they tested the white capsules using the Homologated Preliminary Identification Test. This helped to signify that the capsules contained cocaine. Following the bust, the Colombian Police explained that their exercise created a safer and saner climate by affecting criminal financing.
If the suspect had landed successfully in Amsterdam, he would have been able to circulate 400 doses of cocaine. Meanwhile, the police have identified the cocaine carrier as a man with a criminal past. According to court records, he has yet to answer for the crime of drug Trafficking.
As of now, he is being held at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office. His charges include the crime of trafficking, manufacturing, and carrying narcotic substances. In recent times the Colombian authorities have had to deal with drug peddlers including cocaine and marijuana.
In this year alone, they have arrested about 450 people involved in drug trafficking. This shows their commitment and willingness to keep their community drug-free.
