A New Haven man, 49-year-old Delienne Moncrieft, was apprehended for sexually assaulting his 23-year-old stepdaughter, who has “intellectual disabilities.” He faces second-degree sexual assault charges and is being held on a $200,000 bond. According to WTNH, the incident occurred back in January 2024.
The victim’s mother brought her to the hospital for stomach pains, where they discovered she was pregnant. After a miscarriage at six months, officials collected fetal tissue and DNA samples, but failed to discover a match.
Othram, a Texas company focused on forensic genetic genealogy, collaborated with investigators. They compared DNA samples, creating a family tree that led to identifying Moncrieft, who was apprehended Tuesday after over a year-long investigation.
