The relatives of 25-year-old Shimon Breuer, who sadly passed away from an asthma attack on a British Airways flight, is suing the airline for not inquiring if a doctor was onboard. Breuer struggled to breathe about an hour before landing, pleading for help, but the crew allegedly did not provide adequate medical assistance said a wrongfully death lawsuit filed by Breuer’s brother, per the Independent. Reports noted that the flight was traveling from London to New York.

Reports indicated that Breuer dropped his inhaler, which restricting his ability to breathe. After he blacked out, crew members tried CPR and oxygen but failed to recognize his airways were closed. Attorney Abe Bohrer stated that the inhaler story was “inaccurate” after further investigation.

“It is shocking and shameful that the airline would seek to blame the innocent victim for his own death,”

said the attorney.

“This airline had a responsibility to this young man, they failed him, and now his family is left to pick up the pieces,”

Bohrer continued.

The lawsuit states British Airways trains flight attendants to handle medical emergencies, including asthma attacks. An hour before landing, Breuer experienced an attack, and the crew recognized his distress but didn’t act quickly enough to help.
