Man Facing Sexual Assault Charges Despite Prison Release, Per Reports

On June 5, man from Bay County, Jerome Watts Jr., was released from prison but remains behind bars. He is serving five-and-a-half years of a seven-year sentence for multiple offenses, including car theft and drug possession. Watts was moved to the Bay County Jail to face child sex charges, per WMBB Panama City.

Between 2017 and 2018, Watts reportedly had sexual contact with a underaged girl in Panama City numerous times. At the time, the girl was 12 and 13 years old. The victim informed her mother about the incidents, but they were not reported to the Panama City officials until 2021, while Watts was already behind bars.

He is being held without bond on three sexual assault charges and four lewd and lascivious battery charges involving a child.
