Melissa McLenna was distraught while recalling when her daughters last saw their father, Robert Loren Bacon. Bacon, 52, had planned to spend time with his mom, and his teenage daughters aged 15 and 12. Melissa mentioned to McClatchy News that Robert met the trio at the Bavarian Inn Resort in Frankenmuth on December 27.

Surveillance cameras from the resort captured Robert Bacon arriving at 6:30 pm before joining the girls. But after a brief meeting, he left with an excuse to head to the car. However, sources confirmed that he never got to the car after leaving the girls.

Bacon’s ex-wife told WNEM that he went to the fun center after leaving his hotel room. Unfortunately, there are no cameras in all the exits, so it might have been difficult to determine what truly transpired. The authorities promise to keep tabs on the leads in the investigation.

Bacon’s family became worried after his absence and three days later, they informed the police. Finally, on January 4, his body was found inside Cass River. The Frankenmuth Police Department has yet to call out any foul play. When they found the deceased, personal belongings including his wallet, phone, and keys were on him.

At the same time, the authorities searched his car and found no foul play. Per the medical examiner, Robert Bacon might have died from drowning. However, this is inconclusive as further investigations are ongoing.
