A father is accused of sending his 17-year-old son to rob and k*ll rapper PnB Rock.

On Wednesday, Freddie Trone appeared in a Compton, California courtroom to defend against claims that he had the rapper murdered, saying that he had nothing to do with it. But Trone was found guilty of murder for sending his 17-year-old son to kill the rapper, the LA Times reports.

Tremont Jones, Trone’s friend, was convicted of two counts of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Trone was sentenced to one count of murder, two counts of robbery, and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery, ABC6 reports.

“I never had nothing to do with it. I wasn’t there. I didn’t tell nobody to do nothing. I didn’t hand nobody no gun,” Trone told prosecutors.

Trone’s son, who has not been named because he was a minor, reportedly shot and killed Rock once in the chest and twice in the back in 2022.

Rock whose real name is Rakim Allen was a Philly-based rapper who had hits “selfish” and collabs with artists like YFN Lucci and Ed Sheeran.

For his part, prosecutors believe Trone informed his son about Rock’s whereabouts after his friend and co-defendant Tremont Jones saw Rock and tipped off Trone. Rock’s arm was loaded down with half a million dollars’ worth of jewelry, prosecutors said, that Jones saw when he fist-bumped the rapper.

Surveillance video caught Trone in the parking lot of Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles restaurant in South Los Angeles, dropping off his son and picking him up a little later.

Jones has pled guilty to two counts of robbery and one count of conspiracy.

Trone said he didn’t do it. His car was gone before the shooting. He found his son with the car and three friends later.
