Jessie Clifford Brown Charged With The Murder Of His Stepdaughter’s Ex A Decade Later
Jessie Clifford Brown, a resident of Texas, was arrested on October 18, 2018, but recently sentenced for killing John Allen Franco, 24. According to People, Franco was threatening to release nude photos of his ex. However, the concerned stepdad believed eliminating him would solve the problem. So on May 20, 2015, the convicted murderer tailed Franco’s truck to Liberty City.
A female eyewitness, who was with Franco, confirmed that it was murder. She told police that a blue truck drove close to them and later three men alighted from it to target their vehicle. Although Franco tried to lose them by driving off, he didn’t entirely succeed. Finally, they shot him.
Assistant District Attorney Stacey Brownlee established that the shot didn’t kill him at first. According to Brownlee, the victim’s reflex to the gunshot wound caused him to reverse. Hence, he drove off into the ravine of Liberty City. At about 10:00 pm, deputies responded to the news of a car crash. Franco had been shot on the side of his head and later, was confirmed dead.
Although the police investigated the case extensively. They researched potential suspects and ran phone forensics, yet reached a dead end. However, in 2017, John Doe reported the true scene of the crime. This witness pinned Franco’s death on Jessie Brown and two other men.
Upon interrogation, one of the suspects allegedly confessed their reason. He claimed that Franco had threatened to release nude images of Jessie Brown’s stepdaughter. Their assault was also targeted to extract a phone from the victim—likely the device with the photos.
