A 74-year-old man was shoved onto the train tracks in New York City amid an unprovoked assault, per the New York Post. The suspect, 28-year-old Deviante Collins, then frantically yelled out

“I didn’t do it”

before he was apprehended.

The unnamed victim stood with his wife moments before the assault. Luckily, bystanders helped him back onto the platform before a train arrived at the 149th Street–Grand Concourse station in the Bronx.

The elderly man was transported to Lincoln Medical Center and suffered from nominal injuries to his leg while Collins was charged with

“second-degree assault, as well as reckless endangerment and harassment, both in the first degree,”

said officials.
