A man was apprehended in Marshall County, Alabama after he was seen wielding a firearm. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an intoxicated elderly man with a gun. Deputies discovered that Billy Stewart, 65, was threatening to shoot chickens owned by relatives and inappropriately showing himself to a child, who is merely 11 years old, per WHNT.
Deputies discovered Stewart sitting in a doorway with a shotgun. They ordered him to release the weapon, which he reluctantly did. As they approached, Stewart warned them to stay away and made another attempt to retrieve the gun. However, the deputies managed to disarm him. Stewart then retreated into the house and tried to shut the door to evade arrest.
Stewart was apprehended after a brief altercation and now faces charges of public lewdness, resisting arrest, attempting to elude, and menacing.
