Prosecutors claimed on Thursday that a convicted child rapist on parole attacked his ex-girlfriend, slashing her and pushing her onto the subway tracks in front of her teenage daughters, as reported by the NY Post.

Michael Blount, 29, was taken into custody on December 28 and faced multiple charges, including attempted murder, after being indicted on January 1. On November 5, Blount began stalking the 37-year-old woman and her daughters at a deli in Harlem. As they tried to escape him, he followed them to the subway platform. Blount reportedly returned to the deli, where he allegedly bought a razor blade before returning to the subway station.

According to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, at around 11 p.m., Blount grabbed the victim by her hair and attempted to slit her throat while she was waiting for the A train at the 125th Street station. Prosecutors stated that the victim tried to shield her neck, but Blount went on to slash her face multiple times. Her daughter was able to pull her mother from the tracks, per District Attorney Alvin Bragg in a statement. She was rescued from the tracks two minutes before the next train arrived.

Prosecutors reported that a bystander called a cab for the family, where she was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital for treatment of her injuries. She suffered severe lacerations and had to undergo plastic surgery. Following the attack, the District Attorney claims that Blount continued calling, and texting, the woman and her daughters for weeks while he evaded police until his arrest this past weekend.
