An unnamed woman contacted the Lassen County Sheriff’s Department over her brother who was missing 25 years ago. She had proof that she had found the sibling after going through an article by USA TODAY. In April 2024, the news outlet wrote a story on a hospital inquiring about a patient.

St. Francis Medical Center was treating a man found in the Southern part of Los Angeles. However, the Medical facility was unable to identify him. Jane Doe told the police that the man in the article was her brother. She supported it by adding details of when and where he went missing.

The police statement read that back in 1999, her sibling went missing in Doyle. With this information, the authorities contacted the hospital. However, they discovered that the man had been mute and the hospital had moved him.

According to Deputy Derek Kennemore, he reached out to the other hospital. The LAPD’s Missing Persons Unit confirmed the relationship. The unit identified that the woman and the missing man were related after matching their fingerprints.

The duo were very excited to be reunited. Amid the years apart, finding her missing brother was soothing for the woman. She could not wait to share the news with their other relatives.

Authorities refused to share their names to protect their privacy. But Captain Mike Carney affirmed that they were doing okay. In fact, they will be spending the holidays in each other’s company. The reunited siblings hope to have the best Thanksgiving.
