Mia Thornton and Gizelle Bryant’s altercation during the Season 9 Real Housewives of Potomac reunion didn’t escape many people’s attention. Thornton was on the hot seat all night after several of the cast fired questions at her. The interrogation arose from her claims about the paternity of her child. Consequently, the investor left the reunion early. Meanwhile, Mia Thornton addressed her early exit in a recent interview and claimed she left to avoid punching Gizelle Bryant.
Mia Thornton And Gizelle Bryant Argue During Reunion
Mia Thornton and Gizelle Bryant almost fell to arms during the ninth season of the Real Housewives of Potomac reunion. During the event, Ashley Darby, Mia Thornton, and Stacey Rusch discussed their divorces before the conversation pivoted to Thornton’s son. The reality TV personality had earlier claimed that she was possibly pregnant before she began her IVF process. This placed her in the hot seat as her co-stars fired questions at her unrelentingly. Gizelle Bryant, Wendy Osefo, Keiarna Stewart, and Ashley Darby accused Mia Thornton of lying because this wasn’t possible.
They confirmed that medical professionals usually requested blood work to test for pregnancy before starting the process. This cast doubt on Thornton’s word about her son’s paternity being questionable. Gizelle Bryant called Mia Thorton a terrible mother and said Thornton didn’t consider how her actions would impact her son later. Bryant added that the story shouldn’t have been discussed on the show. However, Mia Thornton shocked everyone when she left the reunion early after intense grilling from Gizelle Bryant and the others.
Mia Thornton Explains Her Early Exit
Bravo filmed the Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9 reunion on January 9, 2025, and aired it in three parts. After the final part aired on March 2, fans criticized Mia Thornton for leaving early. Days later, the real housewife explained her actions during an interview with Incognito (Inc.) on Posted On The Corner. Thornton first shared that she left early because she was tired and her feet hurt.
“Chile because no one had time to be sitting there talking about all that crazy mess. Plus, my feet were hurting…I had enough,” she said. “Like legit, I wanted to take that dress off. I couldn’t breathe. My feet were hurting. We had been sitting there…A lot of people don’t realize that we film the reunion for like 14 hours. It was like hour ten. Okay? Labor laws kicked in at that point. It’s time for me to go.”
According to Mia Thornton, she and Gizelle Bryant would have had a physical altercation if she hadn’t left. She confessed to Inc. during the interview that she was close to knocking Bryant out. The issue of Mia Thornton and Gizelle Bryant’s almost fight came up after Inc. complimented his guest on her growth.
He told her, “You know, a lot of people like to try to keep you in the place where they met you or think that you’re still at. When I bring this up, I’m only using it as a reference. So for knowing you twenty-plus years, in any other type of situation…”
Mia Thornton Said She Wanted To Assault Gizelle Bryant
Mia Thornton cut in while Inc. complimented her and told him she wanted to attack Gizelle Bryant. “You know I was about to knock the brakes off of her head, right? You know that right? You’ve seen that happen, right?” she asked her host. Bryant had stated that she didn’t respect Thornton’s early exit because it showed that the latter couldn’t handle constructive criticism. This pissed off Thornton, who brushed aside Inc.’s compliment that her walking away was growth. She claimed her co-star wouldn’t have been so bold without the cameras and security.
She said, “I’m a name drop. Gizelle knows dang on well that she would not speak to me that way if there was no security and not the platform. She would get her head knocked off by anybody talking to anybody that way. So the fact that I got up and I was being a bigger woman and I exited left… let’s just be real, like who’s being real here?”
Thornton added, “You’re not out here talking to people like that. You’re being fake, you’re phony. You’re doing it because of what’s going around. I don’t know how to do fake, I don’t know how to do phony. I keep it real. And I would have really knocked her head off. Okay? So I had to leave (laughs). Let’s be real.”
Fans do not believe Mia Thornton’s claim about almost attacking Gizelle Bryant and have called her out for lying. In the meantime, Thornton has expressed her desire to leave RHOP and move to RHOA. Hopefully, she will also find people who will hold her accountable there.
