A firefighter-paramedic from Kansas City, Missouri, tragically lost his life on Sunday after being allegedly stabbed by a patient he was transporting. Graham Hoffman, 29, was fatally stabbed while en route to the hospital following a routine medical call.
His partner immediately initiated an emergency response, and additional fire and police units rushed to the scene. Despite the efforts of paramedics and hospital staff, Hoffman succumbed to his injuries at North Kansas City Hospital.
Kansas City officials, including Mayor Quinton Lucas, praised Graham Hoffman’s dedication to public service, calling his death an unimaginable tragedy. Lucas emphasized the risks faced by first responders, noting the senseless nature of the act.

Bossell was arrested on April 23 for biting a Platte City police officer. Per KCTV 5, she was charged with assault and resisting arrest.
The Missouri Division of Fire Safety expressed grief over Hoffman’s loss, remembering him as a compassionate, caring individual committed to his community. Hoffman joined the Kansas City Fire Department in 2022 and quickly became known for his leadership and dedication.
Local authorities are working to ensure accountability, with the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office continuing its investigation. Meanwhile, the community mourns the loss of a brave public servant, with calls for support for Hoffman’s family and fellow first responders.
