On Thursday, a four-car crash on Route 10 in New Jersey, sadly, resulted in the deaths of four people, including a young child. The crash included a P.G. Chambers School minivan. Four-year-old Yexsel Reyes Granados died from his injuries the following day. Two other passengers, Bertha Castaneda, 67, and Maria Figueroa, 58, also sadly lost their lives in the accident, per PEOPLE and NJ.com.

The fourth victim was 71-year-old Diane Goetz, who was driving another vehicle. Additionally, another child is still in the hospital, and two other adults were hurt and needed medical care, per NJ.com.

Robert J. Carroll, a Morris County Prosecutor said, “While we cannot disclose many details on the circumstances of this crash at this time, I can say this is a horrible tragedy for the Morris County community and beyond.”

He added, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives, and with those whose lives will undoubtedly be impacted by their loss.”

A GoFundMe page has been created to support Yexsel Granados’ family, honoring the “brave” four-year-old.

“Yxsel was just 4 years old — a sweet, courageous child whose light shone brightly despite the challenges he faced… He brought joy, love, and warmth to everyone around him, and his spirit touched many in our community. His loss is a tragedy beyond words,” the page added.
