Neyo doesn’t care about the backlash he is facing against his polyamory. The singer became the subject of much criticism after introducing his fourth girlfriend, Bri. He took to social media to ask detractors to keep their opinions to themselves and stop the public scrutiny. He also stressed the importance of allowing people to make and stick to their choices.
Neyo Introduces Fourth Girlfriend
Neyo is no stranger to controversy, and he has once again stirred up backlash with his polyamory. He recently got together with a professional dancer, “Bri,” on his team and has publicly posted about her. Neyo’s relationship with Bri makes her the fourth addition to his girlfriend list: Arielle Hill, Bella, and Phoenix. The musician is a vocal proponent of polyamory and has always been hit with backlash whenever he shows off his women. Thus, the criticism that greeted this addition was not surprising.
Bri confirmed their relationship in December with an intimate photo. She followed this up with clips showing them in intimate positions and another on a romantic trip to Indonesia, including joint workouts, beach outings, and public displays of affection. Bri’s posts seemingly confirm that the dancer is happy to be in a polyamorous relationship with her new beau. However, it is unknown when the singer and his latest girlfriend began their relationship.
Neyo Responds To Polyamory Backlash
Neyo has defended himself against the backlash that arose from being in a polyamorous relationship. He maintained that he was in a harmonious and understanding partnership with his women and asked everyone to mind their business. On February 19, he posted a photo on his Instagram stories to troll critics. He wrote:
“Them: ‘NEYO WE DON’T APPROVE OF YOUR RELATIONSHIP!!” and responded with the print on his t-shirt, “FUN FACT: I DON’T CARE.”
Bro also reposted the image on her stories and added:
“He said what he said.”
One of Neyo’s girlfriends also declared her support for this sentiment with a post a few days on social media, in which she wrote per Radar Online:
“Yes we’re in the public eye and we know people are gonna voice their opinion, that’s what’s expected.”
She added:
“Y’all need to understand over here it’s a solid foundation… just know it’s US VS NOBODY.”
Neyo Declares Unwavering Support For Polyamory
Neyo has never shied from defending his affinity for polyamory despite the backlash he gets from it. In an interview with TMZ, he explained his desire to be in a relationship with multiple women. He also revealed that he is open to adding more women to his lineup if he can afford it. The singer said about those who might be considering it:
“No specific cap, it just depends on who I vibe with and who vibes with me. As many as you can afford, that’s how it works.”
He also noted there should be no backlash against polyamory and added:
“You should let people do whatever the hell they want to do. I don’t recommend anything to anybody—what works for me might not work for you.”
Neyo also shared that he has not decided whether to marry multiple women when asked if the government should legalize polygamy. However, echoed his earlier sentiments and said people should be free to choose and that celibacy is not for him.
