Ohio Paraprofessional Arrested For Alleged Sexual Assault of Teen With Mental Capacity Of a 9-Year-Old

Christin Coble (Sandusky County Jail)

A 45-year-old paraprofessional with the #Woodmore Local School District in #Ohio is behind bars after being caught with a 15-year-old student at his home in Sandusky County on Monday.

The student’s mother, who discovered the pair, told local ABC affiliate WTVG that her son has an intellectual disability and was home that day because schools were closed due to inclement weather.

The suspect, identified as Christin Coble, worked closely with the victim as part of her role in assisting students with disabilities. Authorities allege that Coble used her position of trust to manipulate and exploit the boy, who functions at the mental capacity of a 9-year-old.

The boy’s mother said she became suspicious after noticing unusual behavior from her son and questionable text messages on his phone. On the snow day, she returned home unexpectedly and found Coble with her son in what she described as a compromising situation. She immediately contacted law enforcement.

“This is a deeply unsettling case involving the exploitation of a vulnerable child,” said Sandusky County Sheriff #ChristopherHilton. “The victim in this case and his family have shown incredible bravery in coming forward. Our focus is on supporting them and ensuring justice is served.”

Coble was arrested later that evening and is now facing multiple felony charges, including rape, sexual battery, and gross sexual imposition. She is being held at the Sandusky County Jail on a $500,000 bond. If convicted, she could face life imprisonment.

The Woodmore Local School District has placed Coble on administrative leave and released a statement condemning the alleged actions.
